Chenies Baptist Church endeavours to be a welcoming and safe place to meet and follow Jesus.

Chenies Slide 1

In practice this means:

WELCOMING - As one family we are open and friendly to all and live in harmony together. Our shared hospitality builds relationships and invites others to join and share with us the love of Jesus.

SAFE - We are a nurturing fellowship where everyone can find love, acceptance and encouragement, and where the needs of vulnerable people can be met with warmth and compassion.

PLACE - We thank God for Chenies’ long history of witness from the place where we gather. It is a precious legacy providing a friendly space to share Jesus and to bless other churches and community groups.

WHERE WE CAN MEET JESUS - We love the Lord Jesus because He first loved us and we want others to know and love Him too.

WHERE WE FOLLOW JESUS - We demonstrate how to be true disciples through obedience to His word and to the Holy Spirit, helping to identify others’ God-given abilities and encouraging public and private prayer and testimony. We use our finances joyfully to share the gospel at home and abroad and to support those developing their ministry before going out to serve the Lord.

  • We love the Lord Jesus and aim to follow Him in every way
  • We are one family, welcoming, forgiving and caring for one another
  • We care for those who are vulnerable, suffering or have a special need
  • We use our finances and spiritual gifts to expand the kingdom of God and to bless others
  • We help people to grow strong and fruitful in their walk with the Lord
  • We build people up and support others to serve the Lord elsewhere
