Meet The Team

Adrian Whittred
Treasurer

Adrian lives locally in Latimer, is married to Linda and has two grown-up children who are both living in London, one studying and one working.  Having retired from a 35 year career in the Finance industry as a Human Resources Manager, he currently works at Rope, a christian charity based in Old Amersham, He loves the countryside and enjoys long walks in the beautiful surrounding area (although he admits to being a fair-weather walker!)

“I often stand amazed at God’s creation - blue sky, green pastures, crisp clear waters, hills, valleys, woods, etc. and on one of my favourite walks near Lower Slaughter in the Cotswolds, the enormity of God’s creation quite takes my breath away. It is to Him that I give thanks and praise”.

Adrian became a Deacon in 2008, Treasurer since 2010 and served as Church Secretary from 2015 - 2017.

Liz Cookson

Liz grew up and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour in Hendon Baptist Church. She enjoys a wide variety of music, loves singing, listening to the radio and is a bookworm.

She started out working as a primary school teacher in London, moving on to international education in France and Germany. With a move to Hong Kong came a career change and she became Chief Operating Officer for a Christian Social Service Agency.

Returning to Europe a week before the flag came down, Liz returned to be Head of a primary school in Germany for a year. Coming back to the UK after 24 years away, she worked as Regional Director for 2 charities working with adults at risk and then as Academic Registrar at the London School of Theology, which she retired from in April 2014 to nurse her husband till his death.

“As the old hymn says -
The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows
The more that I love Him, more joy He bestows”
